I greatly enjoyed this episode. Greatly.
Firstly, Prometheus looks quite familiar, so if someone knows what else that actor played in, let me know.
Sometimes by the middle of the episode, you can tell exactly which characters are gonna bite it:; I knew Shane/Prometheus was gonna bite it. Anyone who goes out of their way to save their family is gonna die in the end, That's how the show works. I am really glad they are including Greek mythology in the show. That is what I love about Supernatural. Because the name "Supernatural" is so broad and vague, you can literally do anything you want with the show and they have. That is why this show is so successful: It has great actors, great character relationships, and they have a lot of room to explore different plot-lines. I just love this show you guys.
I'm starting to realize that Disney is like the only place where Zeus isn't a complete Douchebag (yeah, that's right capital D). So I'm gonna take a guess and say that he wasn't that great of a God in real mythology. I like that Dean and Sam got to meet the Hunter Goddess, Artemis since they are hunters. I only wish they could have like had the time to sit down and talk with her about hunting things, the family business. I feel like it would have been an interesting convo. The child was an interesting twist. It really added to the desperation of getting the curse lifted. But seriously: How high was the boy swinging to fall and die? And what the butt was the mom doing, checking her email? I mean I know it was inevitable but come on!
I really miss the fights where Sam and Dean actually kick ass and win. It seems like lately all they do is get slammed into walls while the guest star saves the day. I feel like since Purgatory, Dean should have honed in more on his hunting skills. I know they showed a more brutal side in the beginning, but it's starting to fade out. I really wanna see the boys just get down and fight and win like the good ol' days.
I completely understand why Sam is hiding his pain from Dean. He assured Dean that he could do the trials and if he tells Dean what is happening, it will display how vulnerable he is. He doesn't want to have Dean step in and hold his hand like he did when they were kids or in season 1, which is understandable. I will give the writers props for not making Dean completely clueless to the fact that Sam is in pain. I'm glad they gave him more credit than that. His speech at the end was very touching and the "watch out for my little brother" thing really made me happy/sad. Because Sam hasn't been Dean's little brother since season 3 when you think about it.
Okay, onto why I'm pissed the eff off. THERE IS ANOTHER MONTH-LONG HIATUS. I mean I knew it was coming but I'm still upset. How many breaks do you really need, Supernatural? Huh? Why don't you just tell us before the season starts when the breaks are gonna be? Why do you need another break, you already had a friggin mid-season finale? What do you want? They just reveal that Meg, the demon I recently was yelling about is blonde and coming back and then I have to wait a friggin month before I can see it? Meg, Cas, and Crowley? I'm so glad she isn't dead, and if they kill her I will be so pissed that there won't be a measure to it. I will also be pissed if Cas isn't darn thrilled to see her because they were hella cute season 7 and he better not pretend that he was all loony for her. I ain't gonna lie: I ship it. I don't even hold a grudge against her anymore for ripping my heart out when she killed Ellen and Jo, that's how much I like Megstiel. I know, it's sad but I'm not ashamed (I'm kind of ashamed. No. No I'm not).
So I'm excited for next.....*sigh**grumble*month. I really wanna see what Cas has been doing this whole time. Also excited about Jensen's baby being a girl and about Cas being a regular and Misha directing. But I am super duper cotton candy excited about the Supernatural Harlem Shake video that Jared was talking about. We don't even have to wait for the gag reel to see it! Alright I'm gonna stop *poker face*. Good Day to you all.
