8.20 "Pac-Man Fever"

I thought this was a pretty good episode.

I was very excited to see Charlie return. It was cool to see the way her relationship with the boys has grown. So far it doesn't seem like the writers are too keen on killing her off. I'm glad they gave her more back story in this episode; I think it means that they're gonna put her in more episodes.

Sam's health is really taking a hard left. I'm actually starting to think that he'll die again by the time this season is over. I know that there is going to be some kind of extreme change. I really am wondering how the finale will be if next week he has already fainted.

There isn't much to say about this episode in corolation with the story line. By that I mean the main goal of the season wasn't really the plot of this episode, but they kept the continuity so that it was still mentioned. I think it's good that the writers can put episodes in the season that still carry on the story without actually putting anymore weight on the rising action. It would be overwhelming if they only made episodes that continued the heaviness and drama of another emotionally heavy episode. I really enjoyed all of the comedic beats in this episode. The montage sequence was a nice touch. I actually forgot about the Carver Edlund books. If I were the boys I would have beat the holy hell out of Chuck for those but of course, Chuck has disappeared on mysterious terms. One thing that kind of bothered me: It seemed as though Charlie was only thanking Dean for saving the world when while Dean helped, Sam is the one who sacrificed his life and his soul.

Being someone who has recently been playing a lot of the zombie version of COD, I saw that the scene with Dean and Charlie was reminiscent of that game or some other army game that has zombies in it. Those games are addicting but they totally give me the skeeves. Giving my female opinion real quick: Dean in a uniform was not acid to the eyes. Anywhoo, the enigma that is Charlie Bradbury is slowly starting to unravel itself. I kind of want to see more back story in the episodes to come. Maybe she could be their resident hacker-that would be pretty awesome actually.

This is unrelated but I'm getting tired of all of the ratbutt excuses for why Garth isn't on screen. Why don't they just bring him on? Garth is friggin awesome!

Something else that bothers me is the fact that Sam never has a special bond with a guest star or recurring character. I feel like I've said this before. Every time there is a character that the boys befriend, they always bond more with Dean: Charlie, Krissy, Cas, Garth. I think one exception is Jody Mills who they seriously need to bring back. I actually want to see more Sam and Cas bonding as well because Cas has frequently called Sam his friend and I want to see more of their dynamic. And I'm not gonna lie, it would be cool if there was a scene where Dean walked in on Sam and Krissy rockin' out to Taylor Swift like this:

So that was my piece. I think I had more to say but I'm so scatter brained that I forgot. Oh, this season Dean has been huggin like it's his job. And this was the first hug that he and Sam have shared that wasn't directly related to one of their deaths or suspicions of the other being dead, what a monumental moment*sniff*. I'm quite thrilled for the next episodes, I wanna see what has happened to Sam, I wanna see what Kevin Tran's stupid self has done. OH! Most of all: Cas is back and I reeeeeeaaaaalllyy want to see if the boys will tell him about Meg and if he will react with the fit of rage that I am hoping for. Alrighty then, G'bye!

8.19 "Taxi Driver"

Wow. What an amazing episode. Despite all of the sad and distressing things that happened, it was very well done.

Firstly I want to talk about my theory being shot to hell that Naomi wasn't an angel because they finally decided to add wing flutters to her departure. Naomi is a really complex character. I have absolutely no clue where her arc is going so I'm excited to see how that plays out and if she will die in the season finale. The fact that she saved Bobby's soul is really convenient, but I could tell that it was barely a blip on her radar. She was obviously trying to piss off Crowley, she had no good intentions.

Bobby being in hell actually pretty sad, especially knowing that his hell was watching the boys become demons over and over. I was almost confused as to how hell looked because I distinctly remember it not looking that way when Dean was under, but I realized that as of some time in season six it's been under new management. It was interesting to think about what all of those people did to get into hell, my guess is that most of them made deals. Though I was glad to have Bobby back even for a little while, they could have taken the story someplace different and we never would have known. We didn't see Bobby go to hell so the writers could have just as easily placed him in heaven. There were others that we actually knew went to hell like Adam or Bela. Adam would have been the most logical choice but that might have been difficult as well because he isn't just in hell, he's in Lucifers cage.

Even though I was sad to see him go(because he was honestly my favorite addition this season), I really liked the way they sent Benny off. They left it open for whenever he wanted to come back and I really didn't want him to have a one season story arc. I was always afraid that he would fall off the rails and Dean would have to kill him. But in a way I guess that is what happened: It was unspoken but when Benny said he didn't belong, I saw guilt like maybe he did kill someone. The scene between Benny and Dean really stole the episode for me. Jensen and Ty did a really good job portraying brothers in arms that are about to part ways. Benny really was an amazing friend to Dean. I hate the fact that Sam finally stopped being a douche to him at  the very end. And I  will admit that Bobby was making me a little impatient when Sam had to explain to him that Benny was a friend. Like do you realize he's helping you save your soul from an eternity of damnation and all you can cough up is bitter resentment? That was just one thing that irked me and maybe it was supposed to.

I was lovin the brotherly..ness(?) at the end. It's a large contrast to the conflict that they were having at the beginning. I am reeeeeaaally excited to see what happens to Sam at the end of the trials. If he dies (again) I won't even be surprised I tell ya hwhat.

I am also quite looking forward to the next episode because freakin Charlie Bradbury is back and Dean is in uniform lookin straight up BA. They're acting out a videogame, Charlie's back, Dean is in a soldier getup, and Sam...is knocked out in a hospital bed...again. Hopefully he's gonna get up and have his time to shine too.

That's it let me know what you thought of "Taxi Driver" and if you have the same opinion or different opinions on anything and comment you know...in the comment section I suppose. I never know how to end these things. It's like the conclusion to an essay at school. Okay, I'm just gonna stop typing.

8.18 "Freaks and Geeks"

I really dug this episode.

What I like about episodes like this one or "Ghostfacers", "Bitten", or even "Jus in Bello" is when the boys' lives are looked at from the perspective of outside characters. It makes them look like such cool cats.

I especially like the part where Dean basically took that kid Aidan to church when he thought he was bluffing. That was a personal favorite of mine.

I'm glad that Krissy came back into the story. It think they are going to start bringing her into the story line more and more. I like the way she challenges Dean but I think I'd also like to see her do more scenes with Sam. Sam never really gets to have a special bond with recurring characters, its mostly Dean.  So I'd like to see maybe a teenager or a girl or maybe even a character that has already been there like Charlie or Garth bonding with Sam.

The idea of children becoming hunters in a X-Men type way( I know Krissy said that they werean't like the X-Men but come on) really had me straddling the fence on the issue. I mean, sure a lot of people hate John because of the way he raised the boys but like I said, it's not like he had a choice. We have to remember he was a human being who was stricken with grief and rage. The guy Victor before you found out he was a dick seemed to be going about it the same way John did except without the bloodlust clouding his vision. It almost seemed like a good idea other than the fact that they were kids and if it hadn't been for Victor they wouldn't have been thrust into that life. If we were in that kind of world, you have to wonder how you would handle the situation. I think I would keep a knowledge of the supernatural and the tools to deal with it but I wouldn't really get involved. But like I said, John didn't really have that much of a choice.

Victor was an all around doucheapalooza in the end. It was one of those times where I couldn't tell that it was going to end how it did, but I knew he played a part in the final battle on the opposing side. I actually didn't see it coming that he had had the kids' parents killed. That was a pretty good twist. I commend Krissy on her ability to just let him go even if he did end up offing himself. I can say that I probably wouldn't be able to just forget like that especially if he tricked me into killing innocent people. That's another thing, more experienced and competent hunters (like Sam and Dean) wouldn't have missed the fact that it was fairly obvious even as an audience member that the vamps they were killing had no clue what was going on. If you caught a vampire and told them that they killed your family, most likely they would gloat not say, "what are you saying". So I think in the end even though those kids had their fancy dart guns and what not, Sam and Dean were trained a little bit better because they have always had better instincts than that.

I'm uber excited about tomorrow's episode. It seems quite important. I saw a sneak peak and Bobby may either return or make some kind of guest appearance. Honestly when I heard that Sam had to save an innocent soul from hell, my first thought was Adam because he's still friggin there and it is pissing me off that they have made no move to save him. But then Bobby had to go and get himself thrown in hell because Crowley doesn't like him. Which reminds me of one last thing, Crowley needs to freakin die. Just sayin'.

So that's what I thought about the episode. Sorry this is so late. I wanna know what you guys thought so you can comment with your thoughts. Do you think it's a good idea to raise kids as hunters or even raise them with the knowledge of the supernatural (in the show, obviously not real life)?
