8.11 "LARP and the Real Girl"

Great, great episode. I loved it.

I liked the episode placement, and I think that the writers and everyone behind the show does a really good job with that. The way they can have a really emotional and heavy episode one week and the next week it is really light to kind of lessen the blow, it really balances the show well.

Okay, let's just take a minute to talk about Charlie. Friggin' Charlie Bradbury is a magnificent creature and a bit of a playa I might add. I love her quirkiness and just the way she handles situations. I love that at the end of the episode she said that she would help the boys at anytime, which means that she will be coming back to  spew all dat awesomeness on everyone. I also love her relationship with the boys. As soon as she was introduced in "The Girl With The Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo," she and the brothers had instant chemistry. They just fell into a rhythm. And it pays off because you can tell in this episode especially that Dean and Sam care for her like a sister. Its really cool and a little strange to see a girl who is friends with the brothers who they don't want to have sex with and who the writers don't wanna kill off ( hope I didn't jinx it).

There were some excellent comedic beats in this episode. The little tidbits with Dean actually enjoying LARPing was priceless. I loved Dean's reaction to Charlie picking up chicks, like he was rooting for her or maybe he wanted tips (like he needs any). Anyone notice that Dean can't go to a LARPing gig without whippin' out his gun on innocent people? It's pretty hysterical when you think about it.

I'm glad that they didn't just do comedy, like they still had us keep in mind that both of the boys gave something up in the last episode. I think that was really important. You can also see that Sam and Dean are really getting back into their old grove which is something the we have not seen in a helluva long time. That being said, the ending was really nice because it was like old Sam was coming back, which-pardom me- makes me kinda glad that he broke it off with Amelia. Back to the ending though: It was like eating an awesome deli sandwich with that posh-ass grey poupon mustard. The beat with Charlie and Sam when Dean was giving his Braveheart speech (I knew it!) was gold. The Braveheart speech was gold. Dean wearing a wig and Sam with his hair tied back just made me fist pump the air just for the hell of it. The freeze frame at the end made me laugh like a crazy person and then I stopped and was like- dope.

I just loved it you guys. I can't wait to see the next episode. Maybe Pop Pop Winchester won't be a dick like  Pop Pop Campbell. Fingers crossed.

I also wanna give my respects to the cop at the beginning because that man had some of the best lines and man did he deliver. "These kids today with their texting and their murder"
